Global Barry Intelligence API v1

A versioned, authenticated API over Global Barry's own normalized intelligence, derived only from public and primary sources (SEC EDGAR, Federal Register, the Federal Reserve, U.S. Treasury, BEA, BLS, Census, Fiscal Data and public corporate releases). No commercial market-data vendor is proxied. This is not investment advice, and no real-time prices or price-movement claims are returned.

Authentication

Every request needs a Global Barry API credential. Create one on the Developer page. Send it as a Bearer token (or the X-API-Key header):

curl -H 'Authorization: Bearer $BARRY_API_KEY' http://globalbarry.com/api/v1/events
  • Missing / invalid / revoked credential → 401 with a JSON error.
  • Per-minute rate limit exceeded → 429 with a Retry-After header.
  • Rolling 30-day quota exceeded → 429 with a clear message.

Response envelope

Every response is JSON (Content-Type: application/json, Cache-Control: no-store) and carries top-level metadata plus per-item provenance:

  • api_version, request_id, disclaimer — top level.
  • source — human-readable source (e.g. "SEC EDGAR", "U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis").
  • source_url — openable canonical/accession URL, or "Unavailable".
  • retrieval_timestamp — when Global Barry first retrieved the record.
  • analysis_timestamp — when intelligence/AI was computed (null for deterministic-only).
  • evidence_type — primary_filing · regulatory_document · economic_release · derived_intelligence · ai_analysis.
  • confidence — FACT · INFERENCE · ANALYSIS · UNKNOWN (plus an uncertainty note where relevant).
  • ai_generated (bool) and ai_generated_fields (which fields are model-generated).

All GET endpoints are deterministic and never call the language model. Only POST /research and POST /impact-analysis may, and only on a cache miss — identical inputs reuse the cache.

Sources & redistribution

Every returned item passes through a source-permission registry. Only sources explicitly flagged redistributable (today: all public / primary government and public corporate sources) are exposed. New permitted sources can be onboarded later by adding a registry row and a mapper — without changing any endpoint contract. There is intentionally no commercial / licensed vendor data path.

AI-generated fields are produced by a language model over cited evidence, carry a confidence tier, and may be incomplete — always verify against the linked source. The API never returns investment advice or price-movement claims.
